I’m very proud to share that my dear mother, Mrs. Kathy Rosenzweig, has been selected as a UMOM Champion finalist as part of the organization’s celebration of its 50th anniversary. For those unfamiliar with the organization, UMOM is Arizona’s largest family homeless shelter and provides services to break the cycle of homelessness and improve the well-being of homeless families in the community.
A woman who overcame the adversity imposed on children by poverty and troubled home life, my mother devotes her time to making the opportunities she could prove to her own children available to all. She is a true mensch. I increasingly believe that much of the success I have had in life is due to the rich learning experiences I had as a young boy. Research seems to suggest that these early years lay the groundwork for later intellectual development. Moreover, a good deal of credit for this blog goes to my mother who encouraged my love of learning and sharing knowledge with others.
Please take the time to vote for her, so her selected program, the Child Development Center, may win a $20,000 donation from American Airlines. Voting ends 10/31/14.
